Our Mission
The Global Research Society exists to recognize, support, and connect researchers worldwide, fostering the collaborative inquiry that advances human knowledge and addresses the challenges that transcend borders and disciplines.
Our History
The Global Research Society was founded in 2016 by a group of researchers who recognized that the structures of traditional academic publishing and institutional collaboration were failing to serve the global research community adequately.
Key Milestones
2016 – Society founded with 36 charter members from 12 countries
2017 – Launched open-access publication platform
2018 – Reached 1,000 active members across 40 countries
2019 – Established first regional chapters for in-person collaboration
2020 – Introduced an interdisciplinary collaboration matching system
2021 – Expanded fellowship to include social sciences and humanities
2023 – Surpassed 5000 members; published over 12000 research papers
2025 – Launched institutional partnership program
Present – More than 3,000 researchers in 40 countries; recognized as a leading global research community

The Fellowship
All Fellows of the Global Research Society participate in governance through:
- Electing Council members and Society leadership
- Voting on major policy decisions and strategic initiatives
- Serving on committees overseeing specific functions
- Proposing and nominating candidates for Fellowship
This self-governing model ensures that those who understand research needs and challenges firsthand make the decisions shaping our community.
Council
The Society is governed by a Council of 24 Fellows elected by the full Fellowship to serve three-year terms. Council responsibilities include:
- Setting strategic direction and priorities
- Overseeing financial management and resource allocation
- Establishing policies on publication, peer review, and research ethics
- Appointing standing committees
- Ensuring the Society fulfills its mission and serves its members
Council meets quarterly, and its proceedings are documented in minutes available to all members.
